8th Grade Participation Award
Presented to any 8th grader who has participated in at least five (5) seasons of competitive CYO sports since the 5th grade.

Frank "Trippy" Streaks Award
Presented to an 8th grade boy who best exhibits the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship and Christian example in honor of Frank “Trippy” Streaks. The award has been given every year since 1968. Candidates for the award need to have played at least five (5) seasons of competitive sports in grades 5 through 8 and are chosen based on individual evaluations and recommendations made by each of their CYO coaches over their years of CYO participation (grades 5-8).

Elizabeth Swab Award
Presented to an 8th grade girl who best exhibits the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship and Christian example in honor of Elizabeth Swab. The award has been given every year since 1969, originally named the “Junior Miss” award. Candidates for the award need to have played at least five (5) seasons of competitive sports in grades 5 through 8 and are chosen based on individual evaluations and recommendations made by each of their CYO coaches over their years of CYO participation (grades 5-8).

Jim Lippy Award
Presented to a St. John the Evangelist adult who, through a significant commitment of himself or herself to CYO activities, helped shape the self-esteem and Christian values of the parish’s children.

Terry Herron “Coach of Class” Award
Voted by the 8th grade CYO participants and awarded to the coach considered to have had the greatest impact on the CYO activities of this graduating class. All coaches who worked with this class during their 5th through 8th grades are considered for this award. One coach is awarded for the girls’ teams and one for the boys’ teams.

Father Mahedy “Courage” Award
Awarded intermittently to a graduating 8th grader who has demonstrated extraordinary perseverance, strength, faith and courage in the face of challenging circumstances. The efforts of this winner reflect the spirit and determination of our beloved former Pastor and remind us that perhaps the greatest accomplishment is simply refusing to quit. Presented for the first time in 2004.

The President’s Award
Presented intermittently to an 8th grader who has demonstrated extraordinary dedication and contributions to our CYO program. Presented for the first time in 2008.
