The safety patrol assists the crossing guards in the morning to ensure that students have a safe environment walking to school. The patrol also assists the teachers during school dismissal by directing traffic and parking to ensure all remain safe. St. John the Evangelist students in grade 6 serve on the Safety Patrol and then train the grade 5 students to take over safety responsibilities the following year.
