• Grandparents Brunch Kicks Off Catholic Schools Week! A St. John the Evangelist School tradition is to kick off Catholic Schools Week by holding a brunch to honor the grandparents of our students and seniors of our Parish. The brunch is planned, organized and staffed entirely by volunteers with the active participation of all SJE families.
This year, the Grandparents Day brunch took place after the 9 a.m. liturgy on Sunday, January 31. Not even the wintry weather or new fallen snow could dampen the enthusiasm for our special celebration!
The Grandparents Day planning committee also reintroduced the St. John the Evangelist School Sponsor-A-Student Program during the brunch. It is a goal at St. John the Evangelist to ensure that no child in our parish will ever be deprived of a Catholic education due to an inability to pay. With your help, we can open the doors of opportunity for students who otherwise would never be able to benefit from an education at St. John’s. Additional information will be available.
In addition to the wonderful brunch and community spirit, all were delighted by the art work from grades K – 8 displayed in the auditorium and throughout the school.
