NCEA has created a new theme to celebrate Catholic schools. “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” encompasses the core products and values that can be found in Catholic schools across the country. Not only are we teaching students to become future servant leaders, faith-filled disciples and enriched citizens in our communities, we, as educators, are growing with them. In Catholic schools, we are all learners, servants and leaders. These shared qualities are what make Catholic schools work. They are what make Catholic schools succeed.

The official CSW logo brings the theme to life. The open book made up of multi-colored pages symbolizes how all areas of Catholic schools blend together, with faith — symbolized by the cross — at the forefront. Catholic schools are vibrant, dynamic and excellent.

Nearly 1,000 members of Catholic schools — including pastors, presidents, principals, teachers, parents, superintendents, board members, consultants, partners and friends of our common mission — voted to select the new theme. This collaborative decision truly showcases that CSW is made possible by the participation of the entire Catholic school community.

Here at St. John the Evangelist we bring our own community based traditions to Catholic Schools week in addition to the traditions of the Archdiocese of Washington and the National Catholic Education Association.   CSW is always a community centered week when we can reflect on the gift that Catholic education is in our lives and celebrate that gift.
